A Little Bit of Background

Confession #1: I am a Master Procrastinator
Confession #2: I can get a bit hyper-focused (obsessive) when it comes to things I want or need.
There are more quirks in my personality but I’ll save them for another day.  The reason I’ve started this blog is because of these two personality traits.  Because I obsess I can lose perspective and become overwhelmed!  And when a situation or task overwhelms me #1 kicks in and the only thing that gets moving is my internal “guilt voice” and honestly she never shuts up.
Here’s what I want for me.  I would like to work in 30 minutes of exercise a day and to eat healthier.  Maybe lose a few pounds and tighten up a bit.  No big deal right?  Apparently in my brain it is, because in my mind I see myself trying to live “The Biggest Loser” lifestyle for the rest of my life and getting my 18 year old body back in return.  Both of these ideas are overwhelming and unattainable, and both of throw the Master Procrastinator into high gear, which of course sends me right to the sofa and HGTV, which turns up the volume of “the voice”.
So when I was reminded recently that it takes about 28 days to start a good habit or to break a bad habit I thought to myself “I can do 28 days!”
My 28 days begins today and I’m inviting you to join me on this journey of trying to make my health a priority one day at a time, and I would like to invite you to join me.
If you’re like me and have something you would like to do in your life but it overwhelms you when you think of it for a lifetime, perhaps you would like to try it for just a few weeks.  Or perhaps you have a task you would like to have completed and you need a goal date.  You can use your time anyway you want.
Your time can start when you’re ready and we would love to hear what you’re doing, how it’s going, and how you feel throughout your 28 days.

Encouragement is always appreciated as well.
